ribbons & stones

after this past weekend's jaunt, i'm 3/6 for new england state fairs this year. reckon that's a good enough percentage for me, though the squash and herb honorees at the tunbridge world's fair in VT were especially alluring...

i'd like to see the world distribution of 'largest zucchini' ribbons. back on the homefront, took an amble around mount auburn cemetery and found, among chestnuts and acorns, some good anchors..

^one of the best inscriptions i've seen, revisited.

reburials

got halfway through a book by michael kammen on "the history of notable american reburials" before realizing that most of what i really wanted to know about that topic is summed up in one episode of the memory palace, "i have not yet begun to rot."
